Ashlee Bixby, MEd, LPC, NCC, RPT, BC-TMH, CCPT
I am so glad you are here and taking this step towards healing and growth. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Registered Play Therapist, a Board Certified Telemental Health provider, and a Certified Child Centered Play Therapist. Whether you are a child, tween, teen, or adult, my passion is connecting with you on a real level. I work hard to fully understand and honor your feelings and experiences so that you can feel safe in our relationship. Inside the safe space we create in therapy we will explore what you or your child need. You will have the acceptance and freedom you need to try out new ways of working toward your goals.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin and my Master’s in Education and Counseling from the University of Houston. I have special training and supervision in play therapy and using play to enhance the relationship between caregivers and children. My professional experience includes individual and group therapy with children, tweens, teens, and adults. I have experience working with people who have challenges related to stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD, social skills deficits, behavioral problems, family disruptions, and low self-esteem. I also have experience working with survivors of trauma including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.
When I am not in the office I enjoy spending time with my partner and our kids. We love hanging out with family and friends, including our various 4 legged friends. I also enjoy learning new things, and arts and crafts in many forms.
